In this case, the DC bicycle generator creates 12Volts direct current which feeds into a volt meter and also into a 110VAC inverter.
The inverter converts the 12VDC into 110 AC which provides power to a 12Watt black and white TV set. The challenge with using an inverter is that you have to pedal just right to keep the voltage between 12V and 14V, or else the inverter will go into voltage protection alarm mode and start beeping at you.
