#2 The Bunch Passing Pattern Cont'd:

The bunch passing pattern can be run out of many formations and looks.

There are many other Bunch routes, but this is the easiest to teach. (It is called the Smash route in many places.) If the TE comes open, you have a TD there too.

If your QB Quarter Back can do a good job reading, the Z will usually come open over the middle too for short yardage.

The Z should find a clear area and settle between the LB’s and turn to face the QB. He must be able to catch the ball and tuck it away to turn and spin up field. The receivers must communicate and determine who will cross first between the Tight End  and Z.
