Basic Suggested Patterns:
#1 Out pattern

This pattern is the
easiest to teach. Your receiver should make a square out cut on his
inside foot (inside being closest to the center) at 4 yards. This will time up the pattern with your QB’s 3
step drop.
He
can even make an inside head fake if he can perfect the look. You can run
this play when in the middle of the field.
The receiver runs 4 yards in order to time up the throw with the
Quarterback’s 3 step drop. There is no fake, the Quarterback should be
getting rid of the ball in 1.3 to 1.5 seconds for it all to time up. If
the Quarterback is slow in his drop, then the receiver can make his cut
at 5yds to adjust the timing of the route.
